View tree of folders and files

Install the tool called “tree”

• https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-show-directory-structure-command-line/
• e.g. sudo apt-get install tree

Run tree

• tree my_stuff/
• prints hierarchy of dirs and files in my_stuff/
• tree -d my_stuff/
• -d will print dirs only, not filenames
• tree -d my_stuff/ > my_folders
• stores the output in the file called my_folders
• man tree for more options
